Heather began studying the piano at the age of six and picked up the violin at nine. In 1983 she auditioned for the Manhattan School of Music as a double major on piano and violin and was accepted on both, but was required to choose only one. She began as a piano major under Zenon Fishbein and after one year realized that though piano was her great love, she was more driven on the violin. Heather returned the following year as a violin major under Raphael Bronstein.

I'm mostly concentrating on my original music and producing other people's projects these days. I started out as an electric guitarist in blues, R&B, rock, and variety bands, and started producing my own work in the '90s. I've been deeply influenced by the New Orleans groove, Delta Blues, '60s and '70s rock, and all the great players I get to work with in my beloved Tucson music community.

I was born and raised in rural Arizona with the sounds of rock and roll, folk, soul, country, funk, and blues all coming through the AM radio airwaves. My Mom and Dad, both musicians, had me going to band rehearsals at five and learning guitar by the time I was eight years old. I started playing bass in my first band at eighteen and it only took one paying gig for me to know my career path. I joined a working band at nineteen and played a regular Friday night gig in Safford at a VFW until I moved to Tucson in 1982.
